On top: the agency website in its final iteration. As far as we knew, this was the first website to use video as a navigational technique. (Hit the play button for a demo and an early brand video.) The site won “Best of Interactive” at the regional Addy awards. Next: a few clients in their own words. We used videos like this one in presentations.
The + Me History:
Holton Sentivan + Gury began as Holton Namiotka Jones (HNJ) in 1985. Jack Holton founded the agency with Carol-Lynne Namiotka, the agency’s chief writer, Creative Director, and one-time protege of advertising legend Steve Cosmopulos. Jack and Carol-Lynne ran the business out of a converted barn – and then a year and some 25/30 employees later, moved to a 200 year-old, 3-story inn and one-time brothel in Lafayette Hill, PA. The work had a distinctly British flair at first, thanks to a veteran copywriter / senior art director team from London.
I came onboard in the 90s, when the British writer traded advertising in for sailing. I became a partner along with Carl Teitelman in the mid 00’s, and HNJ became HTG. After Carl left, HTG became HS+G until we all parted ways in 2016. A lot of the work on this site is from the agency’s last few years.
The ideas, words and the strategic thinking represented on these pages are mine, and I continue to update the site. Of the many great art directors I’ve worked with through my career, (starting with Bradley Gast), the two most represented are Drew Sentivan and Martin Frey.
